Distorted Vision of
Elected ones
This winter session of parliament started on 22/11/11. Going
by the media reports, nation is made to know that during this session many
important bills are to be taken up for discussions and passing. This includes
bill on Lok Pal and many other matters of national and public interest. It is
sad to observe that the Parliament could not transact any business and both
houses of parliament continue to be adjourned till 24.11.11. Then on 24.11.11
itself a young man gave a slap on the face of a central govt. minister Mr.
Sharad Pawar. On 25/11/11 when the house again assembled, the Lok Sabha speaker
at the very beginning put up a resolution reporting the SLAP incident. The
house was one in condemning the incident and wishing severe punishment for the
young man who did this act of SLAPING. Bad it is to assault any one in public,
and normally the incident deserves condemnation. During passing of resolution
of condemnation of the incident there was generally no disruption in the house
(A rare occasion) AND EVERY ONE SEEMED
ONE ON THIS SCORE. During this period there seemed not even a single voice to point out to the “WHY “of
such types of incidents. None even tried to go into reason of ANGUISH the young man must be having that he
dared to do this dangerous act of attacking a MINISTER that too in full glare
of many where he was sure to be caught and punished. There were also no suggestions
for introspections by the political class on the matter. As soon as this resolution
was adopted, again there were disturbances and pandemonium in the house; though
in the LOK SABHA two/three bills seemed to have been passed in a huff without
any discussions there upon. Mostly the related proceedings were all drowned in
the noise. The noise and disruptions were so loud that it seemed not possible to make out as to
what exactly transpired in the HOUSE. Again, as conduct of the house seemed not
possible it was adjourned to meet on 28/11/11. RAJYA SABHA too for similar
reasons was adjourned. THESE TYPES OF DISTURBANCES are not witnessed for the
first time, rather this seems to have become the culture at almost all the
legislatures and parliament at the center. To
quote a few, MURDERS, RAPES, DECOITIES,
EXTORTIONS, BRIBERIES, burning of public and private properties do take place in the country almost daily,
but for them none seems worried and no
discussions take place in the PARLIAMENT. Question is why this issue only. Then
there are instances of wastage of public money for selfish ends and for self
praise, like putting up of publicity through media, hoardings and construction
of monuments etc., where lot of public money is wasted and natural resources
consumed. Do all these acts not deserve similar attention and condemnations of
the elected ones and the ministers? In general perception the elected persons
are our leaders [KARANDHARS] WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WELL VERSED IN THE TENETS
OF MANAV, RAJ AND RASHTRA DHARAMS and
that way, they must be putting up all
their knowledge, resources and energies to keep the nation and citizenry safe
and secure from all types of troubles and problems. But here they seem
concerned with their personal security, safety and progress of themselves and
their nears and dears only. After this slap incident members of the victims
political party created road blocks and also did some burnings to protest the incident.
They do not seem to remember that the public inconveniences by these acts are
not at all involved in this slap incident. Then who gives them right to create problems for all and sundry.
If the Govt. of which the victim is a cabinet minister is not able to ensure
proper GOVERNANCE then why general public be made to suffer. These very people
there after reached the place of Shri Anna Hazare to protest against what he
expressed on this incident of SLAP. There too it was the general public who was
inconvenienced. It could again have been more SATVIK to introspect on the
wordings of all who express on this issue. Will the political class not do well
to themselves if they try to gauge the public mood as it exists in the country
as of now.
Going by what
has been mentioned here to fore, request to our KARANDHARS is to keep their
cool even on such incidents and even if some individual incidents are to be taken up in the LEGISTATURES, such
discussions can generally be keeping in view the oath taken by them as MEMBERS OF THESE AUGUST HOUSES and must do
their full duty to the nation by participating in the proceedings, framing of
positive and progressive laws for the safety and prosperity of all that is for the present as well as the future
generations. If at all, some times
resentments have to be expressed, these too can be done in the way that enhance
the images of the karandhars so much so that
none ever thinks of any ill will and disrespect for this class of persons. The general public too
can try to force the elected ones to perform their prescribed functions and
responsibilities in full and with full commitment to the nations and its
citizens. AFTER ALL THE ELECTED ONES HAVE GOT THE POSITIONS FOR LIMITED PERIOD
ONLY AND SUCH POSITIONS ARE AGAIN DUE TO COURTESY OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC and
duties given to them must be fully and honestly performed.
